Helpful guide for retargeting

Retargeting is a marketing strategy where ads are shown to people who have previously interacted with your website or your brand. This could be because they have visited your website or viewed your products, for example, but have not yet made a purchase.

Retargeting is an effective way to reintroduce your brand to these potential customers and convince them to return and still make a purchase.

To set up retargeting in Google Ads, follow these steps:

  1. Create a Google Ads account and log in to your dashboard.
  2. Create a remarketing tag by clicking on "Tools & Settings" > "Audience Management" > "Remarketing Tag.
  3. Copy the tag code and paste it into your website header.
  4. Create a remarketing list by clicking on 'Audience Management' > 'Remarketing Lists' > 'New Audience'.
  5. Select the desired website or app and choose the criteria by which you want to build your remarketing list.
  6. Set up your retargeting campaign by clicking on 'Campaigns' > 'New Campaign' > 'Display Campaign'.
  7. Select the target audience you just created and set up your ads.

Re-targetting Facebook

To set up retargeting in Facebook, follow these steps:

  1. Create a Facebook Ads account and log in to your dashboard.
  2. Create a Facebook pixel by clicking "Pixels" > "Create Pixel.
  3. Copy the pixel code and paste it into the header of your website.
  4. Create a custom audience by clicking 'Target Groups' > 'Custom Audience' > 'Website Traffic'.
  5. Select the desired criteria by which you want to build your audience.
  6. Create your retargeting campaign by clicking on 'Campaigns' > 'New Campaign' > 'Traffic Objective'.
  7. Select the custom audience you just created and set up your ads.

Setting up retargeting can be complicated, but the steps above will help you get started quickly. Keep in mind that retargeting is not always successful, and that it's important to monitor and optimize your campaigns to get the best results. Good luck!
